GUNNEDAH PLAYGROUND COMES TO LIFE WITH $850,000
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson today announced that a special playground in Gunnedah will come to life after receiving $850,000 in funding.
Mr Anderson said this is really special day for Gunnedah as this playground will become a drawcard for families looking for an inclusive activity for their kids.
“I want to congratulate the Gunnedah Shire Council and the community who have worked very hard on this project. Gunnedah Council will also contribute approximately $500,000 with construction hoping to start in the new year.
“Our community has been calling out for upgrades to local facilities and I’m thrilled these sorts of projects can now be carried out. This inclusive playground has a wide variety of activities that will entertain a range of ages and abilities. From trampolines, to dual swings, a sandpit, tube rides, acoustic instruments and more.
“Livvi’s Place playground has to come to life through the Stronger Country Communities program which is a once-in-a-generation investment and it will provide regional towns like Gunnedah with the infrastructure they deserve.
“We need to continue to work toward improving the lives of residents and enhance the attractiveness of our region, this funding will help us do exactly that.
“This government is committed to supporting regional communities like Gunnedah and their crucial infrastructure.
“The Stronger Country Communities fund is part of the NSW Government’s $1.3 billion Regional Growth Fund, driving economic growth and productivity with investment in regional communities.” Mr Anderson concluded.
Applications for Round Two of funding will open in March 2018 and further details can be found at www.nsw.gov.au/strongercountrycommunities.
