GRANTS AVAILABLE FOR LOCAL SENIORS TO
Seniors will benefit from funding now available for projects that will help older people lead active, independent and healthy lives.
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson said Round Three of the Liveable Communities Grants Program is now open for applications.
“Our region has an active senior’s community which is why I am encouraging local organisations to apply for a grant to support ideas that improve the lives of older people and the communities they live in,” Mr Anderson said.
“The focus of this round of funding is on projects that will increase older people’s participation in artistic, cultural, sport and exercise activities which is a perfect fit with our region.
“I know there will be plenty of innovative ideas in our community and I look forward to seeing those ideas put forward so we can provide long term solutions for older people across our region.”
Applications for the program are open to non-government organisations, local councils, universities and small businesses.
Applications close at 2pm, Monday 20 November, 2017. For more information or to apply please email LiveableCommunitiesGrants@facs.nsw.gov.au, call (02) 8879 9172 or visit www.facs.nsw.gov.au .
