FESTIVE FUNDING LANDS IN NOWENDOC
Christmas has come a week early for residents in Nowendoc with Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson today announcing over $36,000 for four community projects.
Mr Anderson said whilst Nowendoc has a small population of around 150 people, it was a strong and active community that are driven to improving facilities in town.
“Today’s announcement essentially equates to $245 per person in Nowendoc being spent on local facilities which is a great Christmas present for the local community.
“Nowendoc is a proud community and they want to see their local facilities last long into the future which is why it is so important that we continue to invest in projects that will secure and grow the community.
Funded projects include:
$10,000 to construct a disabled ramp at the entrance of Nowendoc Memorial Hall
$12,263 to replace the electrical distribution pole and the cattle loading race and forcing yard at the rodeo grounds
$2,000 to purchase netball rings, cricket nets and dart flooring for Nowendoc Tennis Club
$12,491 for lighting and security upgrades at Nowendoc Memorial Hall
Mr Anderson said small communities play a big role in our region and it’s vital that we support their growth and development.
“To build a better region we need to support towns and villages of all sizes as they make up such an important part of the regional economy,” Mr Anderson concluded.
