CURRY POWER FIRES UP FOR AWARDS
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson today congratulated local business Curry Power on being named as a finalist in the 2015 National Electrical and Contracting Association (NECA) Excellence Awards.
Mr Anderson said Curry Power had been named as finalists in two categories for the 2015 awards, highlighting them as leaders in their field.
“Curry Power are finalists in two categories this year – Industrial (Small project) for works carried out at Singleton Army Barracks, and Industrial (Medium Project) for works carried out at the Baiada Oakburn Protein Plant”, Mr Anderson said.
“We have some highly skilled people in family-owned businesses in our region, and they are working on some amazing projects not only here at home, but around the state and across the country.
Director Tim Curry said this was the first time they had submitted projects for the awards, so it was an honour to be named as finalists for these unique projects.
“The Singleton Army Barracks works were carried out during some of the hottest and wettest days in December, and the facility had to remain operational which meant precision and extreme care were necessary”, Mr Curry said.
“The logistics and technical expertise required for a project the size of the Baiada Oakburn Protein Plant is a challenge in itself, and we had to come up with some innovative solutions to ensure completion ahead of schedule.
“Both projects involved many different trades and stakeholders as well as working with high voltage networks, so communication and logistics needed to be spot on to meet time and budget constraints. All of our team work closely to ensure that the highest quality work is delivered for our clients” Mr Curry concluded.
The NECA awards ceremony will be held in Sydney this Friday, 11 September 2015.
