COMMUNITY BUILDING PARTNERSHIPS DELIVERS BIG
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson has today congratulated the Gunnedah Community Organisations who have received funding through the 2014 Community Building Partnerships Program.
Mr Anderson said that the Gunnedah community will benefit greatly from the projects that have been successful through this year’s round of funding.
“A total of $71,655 has been awarded to community organisations in Gunnedah, with the Gunnedah Rural Museum a big winner receiving $31,700 for security upgrades and the landscaping of new sheds.
“I was also pleased to be able to support Gunnedah Meals on Wheels who have received $15,000 for the renovation of the office and kitchen facilities.
“The Namoi Valley Archers will receive $11,390 for the construction of a new clubhouse.
“The Gunnedah Services and Bowling Club also received much needed funding with $7,065 to purchase a 14 seater bus to enable members of the community with transport facilities to attend Club activities.
“The Community Building Partnerships is very competitive and there were a lot of very worthy applications.
“I would like to congratulate all the community groups in Gunnedah who have received funding. For those organisations that have missed out this year, I encourage you to apply again next year.
“I look forward to seeing the projects get underway and I am sure they will be put to good use by the community,” Mr Anderson concluded.
