CALL FOR TAMWORTH ELECTORATE TOURISM PROVIDERS
TO APPLY FOR FUNDING
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson is encouraging tourism providers to apply for a share of more than $7 million worth of NSW Government funding under the Regional Visitor Economy Fund (RVEF).
Mr Anderson said the NSW Government was calling for applications that could benefit from a greater investment in or improvement of their regional tourism products and services.
“Under the second year of the RVEF program, part of a $21.6 million commitment over three years, the NSW Government is providing $7.2 million worth of funding over the 2014-15 financial year.
“The Government is committed to boosting the regional tourism industry, which is vital to the State’s economy.
“In the year ended September 2013, visitor expenditure to regional NSW was worth more than $9.9 billion – an increase of 11 per cent compared to the previous year.
“The RVEF will ensure our tourism providers have the chance to remain at the top of their game and keep attracting visitors to the Tamworth region.
“Of the $7.2 million available, $3.7 million would be quarantined for Regional Tourism Organisations applications, while $3.5 million would be available for industry, local government and Regional Tourism Organisations.
“I encourage all our local tourism operators and organisations to apply and not miss out on this great opportunity,” Mr Anderson concluded.

Applications for round one of the 2014-15 contestable funding will close on 13 June 2014. Applications for quarantined funding will close on 10 October 2014.
