CHANGED TRAFFIC CONDITIONS ON MANILLA ROAD AT HALLSVILLE
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson advises motorists of changed traffic conditions on Manilla Road at Hallsville from this week for repair work to improve road user safety.
Mr Anderson said Roads and Maritime Services has engaged Tamworth Regional Council to carry out improvement work 13.5 kilometres north of Tamworth between Reilleys and Ryans roads to provide a safer road for motorists.
“Work is expected to take eight weeks to complete, weather permitting and will be carried out on weekdays between 7am and 6pm and Saturdays between 7am and 1pm,” Mr Anderson said.
“For the safety of workers and motorists, lane closures and a reduced 40 km/h speed limit will be in place during working hours.
Motorists are advised to follow the direction of traffic control, signs and keep to the reduced speed limits.
Minor delays of up to 10 minutes may be experienced and motorists should plan their journey.
“Because Tamworth is a growing city we continue to invest in our roads and infrastructure so that traffic movements can be safer and more efficient.
“The project team will continue to work with residents and businesses within the area to ensure access is maintained during construction and there are minimal delays to traffic.”
“I thank the community for its patience while this work is carried out,” Mr Anderson concluded.
