BEDE BURKE RE-ELECTED AS
NSW NATIONALS CHAIRMAN
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson has today congratulated Tamworth Farmer and Egg Producer Bede Burke on his re-election as Chairman of the NSW Nationals. Bede is now in his third year as Chairman.
Mr Anderson said Mr Burke was returned unchallenged at the start of the 2016 NSW Nationals Conference in Tweed Heads today.
“There was unanimous support for Bede and that clearly demonstrated that The Nationals are unified and strong in NSW.
“We are the only party that fights for rural and regional communities in NSW and are committed to that task.
“I congratulate Bede on his re-election and thank him for his continued guidance of The Nationals over the last two years and look forward to continuing to work closely with him as we deliver for the Tamworth electorate and NSW as a whole.
“He provides a steady hand and his experience will be called upon as we approach the Federal election on July 2.
“I also to pay tribute to Bede’s wife Narelle and the Burke family who very kindly make time for Bede to serve The Nationals.
“The Burke family have unselfishly supported The Nationals for many years and I sincerely thank them for their time and devotion.”
Mr Burke said “I’m truly honoured and feel it’s an enormous privilege. There’s always continuing challenges but I enjoy working on behalf of our elected representatives.”
The Nationals Conference is a real opportunity for grass root members to have input and create policy that makes a positive difference to the lives of everyone in regional NSW.
Mr Anderson said “I'm looking forward to the great ideas that will come from our members over the next two days.”
