APP UPGRADE PUTS CUSTOMERS IN DRIVER’S SEAT
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson today announced that more government services are available on the go via the Service NSW app.
Mr Anderson said the popular free iPhone app incorporated the NSW Rego iPhone app – with more features to be added in the future.
“One feature already available now is through a new ‘Locator’ function, which helps customers to easily locate Service NSW shops where they can access more than 800 government transactions.
“The new app allows customers to securely renew vehicle registration, check registration status or set a reminder for when registration is due.
“Also upgraded is the ‘Reminders’ function, which has been made more flexible to give customers a heads up closer to the actual date for renewing their vehicle registration.
“Ways to deliver more services on the go will be explored and it is hoped that services such as booking and practicing driver knowledge tests, as well as paying fines could soon be available through the Service NSW app.
Mr Anderson said the popular app was being developed for Android smartphones to make Service NSW services even more accessible to customers who are increasingly turning to their mobile devices to carry out simple transactions.
“The app helps customers find Service NSW centres, Roads and Maritime Services facilities such as e-safety check stations, NSW Births Deaths and Marriages Registries, NSW Fair Trading sites and Government Access Centres across the State.
“People now want to access services on-demand, 24-hours per day, seven days a week, and government transactions shouldn’t be any different.
“Service NSW is making it easier for people to transact online either through www.service.nsw.gov.au, ringing 13 77 88 or visiting a one-stop shop.”
The iPhone app is now available through iTunes.
