Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson today congratulated the Frost Over Barraba committee on a successful exhibition over the weekend in Barraba.

Mr Anderson said the Frost Over Barraba Arts Festival has run for over 40 years and celebrates painting, photography, pottery and much more.

“The main exhibition had some 550 artworks with satellite exhibitions and events throughout Barraba bringing the total amount of works to over 1000.

“The exhibition draws on artists from all across the state including as far as the Gold Coast.

“I congratulate Sarah Marrett, convenor of the festival along with her team on an outstanding exhibition.

“I am a big fan of regional events like this and they are important in keeping our smaller communities strong.

“Events like Frost Over Barraba bring with them a financial boost to the Barraba community.

“It was wonderful to see so many people attend Frost Over Barraba with an estimated 1000 people enjoying the exhibition over the weekend.

“It was great to also catch up with Anne Greenwood who was a photography judge and guest artist at the Festival. Anne’s photo “Waiting for Clouds” was delightful.

“Events like this play in important role in building a better region as they offer the Barraba and wider communities both social and economic benefits,” Mr Anderson concluded.
