ANDERSON PUSHES FOR DOLLARS IN NEXT WEEK'S 2015 BUDGET
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson will be crunching numbers when the 2015 NSW Budget is handed down next Tuesday.
Mr Anderson said he will be paying close attention to the projects that were announced during the recent election and making sure that there is a line item in the budget for them.
“The investment that I am expecting for The Tamworth electorate forms a big part of building a better region resulting in the creation of local jobs and making our economy strong.
“Areas that I will be looking for include health and funding for the upgrade of the Gunnedah Hospital and the last of the funding for the Tamworth Hospital so we can attract more nurses and specialists to our region.
“Transport is a key component for growth and I have been working closely with Tamworth Regional Council on plans for a new Freight Rail Centre on Wallamore Road in Tamworth.
“I will be looking in the education portfolio for the funding for the upgrade of our high schools.
“Law and order continues to be a focus and I am hoping there is start-up funding for work to begin on the redevelopment of Gunnedah’s Police Station.
“I have big plans our roads network over the next few years, and I am keen to see how much will be allocated in 2015/16 budget papers, including the Oxley Highway and money to start the $30million Gunnedah second rail overpass.
“These projects are part of my strong plan for the Tamworth electorate, so we can build a better region,” Mr Anderson concluded.
