ANDERSON CONGRATULATES QUEEN'S BIRTHDAY AWARD RECIPIENTS
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson has today congratulated Mr Ron Greer, Dr Geoff Cummins and Mr Ted Taylor who have received awards as part of the Queen’s Birthday Honours.
Mr Anderson said these awards recognise the important and valued contribution these men have made to our community.
“Mr Greer has received an OAM for his service to the Tamworth community, particularly his dedication to the Tamworth Power Station Museum.
“Mr Greer has volunteered at the Museum since 1986 and was a founding member. Mr Greer is also a member of a number of other community organisations including the Tamworth City Uniting Church where he has been an organist for 48 years.
“Nundle’s Dr Geoff Cummins is another OAM recipient this year and has been recognised for his service to the Nundle community through a range of organisations.
“Dr Cummins dedicates his time as the chair of the Nundle Go for Gold Committee and has been an active member of the Nundle Community Development Committee.
“Mr Ted Taylor has worked with the Manilla brigade of NSW Fire and Rescue since 1963 and has been honoured this year with an Australian Fire Service Medal.
“The Manilla community has been very fortunate to have Mr Taylor as captain of the brigade since 1978 and he has shown great leadership and courage in attending many emergency incidents.
“All of this year’s recipients have made a tremendous contribution the Tamworth and wider community, whether it’s through volunteering their time for various organisations or dedicating their time in keeping the community safe.
“I would like to sincerely congratulate these three outstanding men on receiving this respected recognition.
“They are all deserving recipients and I thank them for their involvement in our community,” Mr Anderson concluded.
