ANDERSON CONGRATULATES IRONBARK HEREFORDS
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson has congratulated Adrian Spencer of Ironbark Herefords on his recent successful bull sale held at Barraba on Friday 28 August 2015.
Mr Anderson said Mr Spencer’s Ironbark Hereford Stud was in its 82nd year, and had reached a significant milestone in the beef cattle industry in Australia.
“It was a pleasure to attend the 42nd Annual Ironbark Hereford bull sale at Mulwaree at Barraba NSW,” Mr Anderson said
“There were 207 lots on offer and the top price bull lot 2 making $44,000. Auctioneer Paul Dooley was in good form, and doing his best to make sure that the sale was a success.
“There was plenty of anticipation at the sale with the cattle market at an all-time high, and many commenting that the future looks bright for the beef industry and for agriculture in general.
“The BBQ was catered by the Barraba Cancer Patients Fund Raising Group, and events like this are good for Barraba, and good for the Barraba economy.
Stud principal Adrian Spencer said the Ironbark sale was strong, with 149 of the lots selling with an average price of $6410.
“Buyers came from the four states right up the east coast, from Tasmania to Queensland, and it was great have Kevin there on the day.
“Our agriculture industry needs people like Adrian Spencer and his bull sale to continue to provide the very best and I wish him every success in the future” Mr Anderson concluded.
