ANDERSON: 2014 COMMUNITY BUILDING PARTNERSHIP FUNDING APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson today announced grant applications are now open for local community infrastructure projects through the 2014 Community Building Partnership program.
Mr Anderson said that grants available through the program are a fantastic opportunity for community groups to receive funding for infrastructure projects.
“The grant will allow community groups to apply for funding for projects that will benefit the local community and will provide positive social, recreational and environmental outcomes for the Tamworth electorate.
“This is a fantastic program as it also supports the local economy through the creation of construction jobs and businesses benefiting from the infrastructure delivery.
“Since 2011 I have been fortunate enough to support projects that have built, upgraded or enhanced our local infrastructure,” Mr Anderson said.
Local projects that have been funded since 2011 include:
- Barraba Lions Club multi-court and skate park project-$23,537
- $29,632 for the upgrade of fencing at the North Tamworth Rugby League Club
- Gunnedah Aged Care additional ceiling mounted lifters- $31,680.
- Kootingal Pre-School construction of education and active play equipment-$25,000
- $58,216 for a new community shed at Werris Creek
“This program receives strong interest from community organisations and is very competitive with over 20 community projects receiving funding in 2013.
“I encourage all community groups that have an infrastructure project they wish to undertake to apply for the funding,” Mr Anderson concluded.
Applications close on the 18 July 2014. For more information and to apply visit www.communitybuildingpartnership.nsw.gov.au
