ANDERSON – PUSH FOR CONTINUED FUNDING IN TOMORROWS STATE BUDGET
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson will be focussed on continued funding for existing important projects already underway in the Tamworth electorate as well as the commitment for new projects in tomorrow’s State Budget.
Mr Anderson said “I have pushed hard for investment in our region over the last 12 months with a number of key projects underway and I am looking forward to seeing those funds continue to flow. I am also hopeful that a number of projects that I have been working on will be funded.
“It’s important to push hard for schools, roads, and hospitals, but also in the social services area with funding assistance to help those most vulnerable in our community such as housing, those with a disability, carers, women and children.
“Funding needs to continue for maintenance on public facilities and support for frontline services, sporting facilities and emergency service facilities.
“I will be looking very closely at the budget papers for funding on key projects that I have been working on including:
- Tangarratta Creek Bridge
- Oxley Highway Dampier Street intersection
- Chaffey Dam upgrade
- The second railway overpass at Gunnedah
- New Parry School for Tamworth
“Further funding commitments are also needed for important projects that are underway including:
- Tamworth Hospital Redevelopment
- The Manilla Road upgrade,
- Woodsreef Mine rehabilitation
“We have seen significant investment in our region in recent times but I am always pushing harder as we build for a better future,” Mr Anderson concluded.
The NSW state budget will be handed down on Tomorrow Tuesday 17th June 2014.
