ANDERSON- GREEN GLOBE AWARDS NOMINATIONS NOW OPEN
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson today announced that nominations have opened for the 15th annual Green Globe Awards with three new categories added to the year’s biggest celebration of environmental innovation, leadership and performance.
Mr Anderson said he encourages businesses, not-for-profit organisations, local and State-government, and individuals to submit nominations for the newly expanded awards.
“This year we’re showcasing a new range of environmental achievements and targeting a wider audience than ever before.
“The Green Globe Awards offer organisations a chance to learn from environmental leaders across a range of enterprising environmental projects and to become part of a dynamic network with a massive body of knowledge; technical expertise; and innovative environmental solutions.
Sixteen award categories are open for public nomination, covering a range of energy efficiency, waste and environmental sustainability initiatives.
“I am pleased to announce three new award categories for the 2014 Green Globe Awards,” Mr Anderson said.
These new categories are:
- Young Sustainability Champion Award – to recognise young leaders in sustainability
- Infrastructure Award – celebrating environmental achievements in infrastructure
- Natural Environment Sustainability Award – for excellence in protecting and enhancing ecosystems.
“The new awards will add further depth to the field of brilliant environmental leaders recognised by previous awards,” Mr Anderson said.
Nominations are open until Monday 21 July 2014. The Awards will be judged by a panel of independent experts and will be presented at a reception at Parliament House on Thursday 30 October 2014.
