ALL ON BOARD THE FESTIVAL EXPRESS
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson today joined with Tamworth Buslines Manager, Chris Lanham to launch the Festival Express.
Mr Anderson said the Festival Express commenced this morning at 7am and will operate for the full 10 days of the Tamworth Country Music Festival.
“This is a great service run by Tamworth Buslines and I encourage anyone planning on attending events in the CBD area to consider using the Express.
“In the early part of the Festival, the service will operate until approximately 1am, then from Thursday it will be extended through to 3am to allow for shows that are finishing late and give people a ‘Plan B’ to get home,” Mr Anderson said.
Tamworth Buslines Manager Mr Chris Lanham said that this year an additional fare product, a daily $5 wristband has been introduced to cater for Festival goers that will only be at the Festival for a few days.
“There is still a Festival wristband available which costs $20 and will cover the full 10 days of the Festival and is available from any Festival Express Bus or from our Ticket Office at the corner of Peel and Brisbane Streets,” Mr Lanham said.
Festival goers should also be reminded that the Festival Express has moved into Brisbane Street between Peel and Kable Avenue this year.
Mr Anderson said “I encourage everyone to climb on board the Festival Express this year and be driven home in comfort”.
