ANDERSON WANTS OUR MUSICIANS TO TAKE THE WORLD STAGE
Local musicians wanting to promote and showcase their talents to overseas producers or develop contacts that could open the door to an international music career are invited to apply for NSW Government funding.
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson said the Opportunity Development Grants Program can help local musicians and their managers develop the business and networking skills required to make it onto the world stage.
“Our local musicians can apply for funding to help them land major tour support slots, take advantage of a unique performance opportunity or attend workshops that develop the professional skills necessary to operate at an international level.
“This funding can be used to bring our local musicians to the attention of notable producers, presenters and industry professionals with overseas connections.
We are well renowned for producing incredible local music talent in this area and I want to see those talented musicians take the next step which is why I am encouraging people to apply.’
Deputy Premier and Minister for the Arts Troy Grant said the success of local artists in overseas markets helps Australia’s contemporary music industry grow and evolve.
“The NSW Government wants to help get our musicians ready to take on the world and I urge talented musicians to submit an application,” Mr Grant said.
Musicians can apply for up to $850 for each person named in an application, to a maximum total of $5,500 per group. Round 2 applications are open now and close on Tuesday 6 September. Full application details are available at www.musicnsw.com
The Opportunity Development Grants Program is administered by MusicNSW on behalf of the NSW Government.
