ANDERSON ANNOUNCES $299,878 TO
BUILD COMMUNITY FACILITIES
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson has today congratulated fifteen community organisations who have received a share of $299,878 through the 2015 Community Building Partnerships Program.
Mr Anderson said that 11 locations from across our region will benefit greatly from the projects that have been successful through this year’s round of funding.
“Community organisations are the backbone of the Tamworth Electorate and I am delighted to be able to support them as they give so much back.
“This year we’ve funded a massive range of projects in Tamworth, Werris Creek, Attunga, Piallamore, Walcha, Manilla, Barraba, Kootingal, Dungowan, Nundle and Gunnedah.
“There will be some incredible facilities come from this funding including;
- $65,000 – New amenity block for the Barraba Campdraft Committee.
- $43,760 – A grandstand for the Dungowan District Rugby League Club
- $40,000 – A grandstand for the Tamworth Gymnastics
- $35,595 - New stables at the Kootingal Pony Club
- $25,000 - Renovations to the Nundle CWA Hall
“The Community Building Partnerships is very competitive and this year we had a large amount of very worthy applicants. If there was an endless bucket of money I would have liked to have funded them all. They were all very worthwhile projects.
“Congratulations to all the community groups in our electorate who have received funding. For those organisations that have missed out this year, I strongly encourage you to apply again next year.
“I look forward to seeing the projects get underway so that together we can build a better region,” Mr Anderson concluded.
