$985,000 IN RENEWAL PROGRAM WORK COMPLETED AT PEEL HIGH SCHOOL
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson applauded the opening of Peel High School’s Renewal Project describing it as a welcome upgrade to the city of Tamworth’s western gateway.
Mr Anderson said the work resulted in dramatically improved school bus pick up and drop off amenities, a covered bus waiting bay, much better teacher parking amenities and quality landscaping.
“It is so important our schools are presented in a positive light,” Mr Anderson said.
"All children, no matter what school they attend, deserve a great education in a well-equipped school with up-to-date facilities.
"We know that a school's appearance is important in how it is perceived by the community. This funding will go a long way to upgrading those schools that need it most.
"These upgrades will improve the schools' amenity, enhance learning spaces and enhance how they present to their local community.
“To match the investment in improved facilities, schools will receive additional support to improve teaching practices and create better engagement with parents and students,” Mr Anderson concluded.
Peel High Principal Rod Jones said the improved outlook of the school now represented the culture within the school.
“It’s been a real blessing for the school to have this work done. It’s made the school and the students who come here really proud of Peel High School.
“This is a reflection of what’s going on in the school and the students have really appreciated the work that has been done,” Mr Jones said.
