$50,000 MAKES CHILD’S PLAY OF RENOVATIONS FOR GUNNEDAH FAMILY & CHILDREN’S SERVICES
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson announced $50,000 for external playground renovations for Gunnedah’s Community Childcare Centre and Family Daycare Services today.
Mr Anderson said the funds from the Community Building Partnership Program will deliver much-needed improvements to local facilities including a playground upgrade.
“The upgrade will include a gathering area with fire pit, seating terrace, a climbing/exploring zone and re-vamping general playground areas including bike track and fairy garden.
“This is fantastic news for an organisation that started in Gunnedah in 1985 and began outreach work to Quirindi in 1994.
“This grassroots funding will directly help them to create a more vibrant and inclusive community group
“I’m always trying to think of ways I can assist community groups right across the region and the Community Building Partnership Program has been a terrific way to provide funding for important work.
“I know that 15 community groups across the Electorate will be sharing $330,000 from the latest round of the Program and this will make an awesome contribution in towns across the region.
“I congratulate all the organisations that were successful in their application and look forward to seeing how these projects make a real difference for community groups in the area,” Mr Anderson concluded.
The Community Building Partnership program has funded some 13,800 community projects since it commenced nearly a decade ago.
