$14,500 GRANT FOR MANILLA PISTOL CLUB JUST THE SHOT
Member for Tamworth, Kevin Anderson has congratulated the Manilla Pistol Club on receiving a $14,500 grant from the NSW Government’s 2017/18 round of the Local Sport Grant Program.
Mr Anderson said the money would be used to upgrade a safety baffle on the Pistol Club’s 50 metre range.
“Over the years the safety baffle has sagged and this grant will allow an eight metre high bank to be constructed which will fix the problem,” he said.
“This would mean the Club would be able to put its hand up to host championship shoots, something it hasn’t been able to do for a considerable period of time.
“This club, which has more than 50 members, has rebuilt itself from a point where it did not comply with safety measures to a point where the completion of the 50m safety baffle will put it in a position it could host zone or even higher level championships.
“With a shoot every second weekend this Club has very good participation rates among its members.
“This will make a big difference for the Club and the members and I’m delighted to be involved with such a proactive group,” Mr Anderson concluded.
